The Start Of The Seymour Party

mt seymour opening day with videograss from jan snarski on Vimeo.

Our friend Jan Snarski took his new Contour HD and captured opening day at Mt Seymour with a crew that included memebers of the Party Snakes, Videograss and the DWD guys.

It looked like a shredding good time for sure.

Where The Wind Blows

Two events are already haunting us this season for not being there, number one is opening day at Mt Baker with their deep snow warning, number two is the Ari Marcopouilos film Where the Wind Blows which is his tribute to Craig Kelly.

If you can make it to the Berkeley in SFO on the 18th of November do as you don't want to be gathering a list of missed outs like us.

The Boss Is Back

Thanks to the crew over at YoBeat we are now behind the Ross Powers for Vancouver 2010 campaign. The Boss is trying to qualify for the Winter Olympics in February next year in the sport of SBX (hip Olympic talk for boarder cross) he already has a gold from the 2002 Olympics for halfpipe sitting in the pool room so how rad would it be if he had a brand new medal with 2010 engraved in it.

Support the Boss on Facebook and Twitter now.

The above picture is from the 2005 Australian Open when the Boss came to town.

If Ross does win at least Thredbo won't need to change it's banner.

Not All Over Just Yet

Is it August or October? As the snow gods seem to think that the season is still all go in Australia, check for yourself. Maybe someone should start up a lift or two.

Goodbye Winter Hello Summer

The chairs have stopped, sales are happening and people are planning their overseas destination, the 09 season in Australia has come to an end. We decided to post a couple of phone pics to help us remember the shredding good times we had this season.

However the good times can continue if you are prepared to earn your turns as the mountains have been painted white again as mother nature has one last go for the year, see for yourself.

Hoods To Woods

Hoods to Woods is not us forming a street gang, it is an organization with the goal to empower low income youth from inner city NYC by allowing them to experience a shredding good time. The organization was founded by Brian "Deka" Paupaw who also created a film by the same name. The film follows Deka and his snowboarding adventures in both North and South America and shows how snowboarding has allowed him to transform his life. You can view the teaser to the film here.

If you are in Brooklyn they are having a fundraiser and screening of the film. All the information can be found here at Rad Collector.

Insane Blade With Mr Parker

Don't worry we are not diversifying into the terrible world that is fruit booting. This clip was done by the one and only Travis Parker and was in the bonus section of TB10. Travis is one of the guys behind Airblaster, was part of the famous Robot Food crew and Bobby likes to travel with him.

Watch his part from Lame to see someone having a shredding good time and if you are in Tahoe make sure you stop by the sushi restaurant he is cheffing at.

Shotgun Season

For some of us spring is here and summer just around the corner, while for others the daylight is getting shorter and weather starting to turn. I guess Burton thinks a device to easily shotgun a can is needed any time of year, while the crew at Yobeat show you how to do it all by yourself here.

I guess it is shotgun season where ever you may shred.

Hit Runs

If you are in the southern hemisphere you would have your hit run on lock by now. While in the northern hemisphere you are remembering the good times of rolling deep with the crew making sure you hit every hip.

This video follows the Red Run at Whistler which is a famous hit run and has provided many a shredding good time.

2011 Outerwear R&D At Boost SnoSho

The SITW crew hit up the Boost SnoSho over the weekend and unfortunately that event has run over way to many black cats as every year they suffer from weather issues. All credit must go to the Boost staff and the riders as rain, hail, winds and lightning didn't stop the show from going on.

DC riders Mikey Williams and Ryan Tiene decided it was a good opportunity to do some R&D for future outerwear ideas they had. With the help of the bar staff and a couple of high quality garbage bags the guys got creative.

The bar staff with shaping tool...a knife.

Tiene was going for the ninja outerwear look.

While Mikey was more pirate inspired with his research.

The Art Approach

Sights & Sounds In The Woods from Something Inthewoods on Vimeo.

Sights & Sounds in the Woods is our art house approach to a shred flick, basically we couldn't find any riders to film and our skills are not worthy of an HD world.

If you look where you shred and have a personal soundtrack or have a Boom Box following you then this film will show you all the stuff you are missing out on. Sometimes you can just call anything art....

Kass and Lago Know It

Maybe Danny Kass and Scotty Lago took our advice on packing a Boom Box for their trip to the NZ open. Like we pointed out there is nothing better than rocking out to your own soundtrack.

Car Danchi Time Again

You know we have respect for these guys and are fans of Neil Hartmann and the Car Danchi crew. Here are 2 of the 5 teasers that will drop for their latest film Rent.

For those who didn't know the Car Danchi series follows a group of Japanese riders who live in their cars for the season in search of "Japow".

Keep checking Neil Hartmann's blog for when the remaining teasers drop.

Why Clint's Couch Has A Nice Groove

Over at Transfer Clint Allan has posted his first blog and it covers his surgery that all to many pro shredders have had to deal with, a busted ACL.

See the pro life is not always pow turns and parties and be warned the photos are a little full on.

Full story here at Transfer.

Don't You Dare Call It A Comeback

One of SITW's all time favorite riders who gave it all away Scotty Wittlake is starting to re surface. He has always had his name floating around the Holden site and now his name is up on the new Comune site under snow team. Hopefully this is all a precursor to a rumored Videograss part. We can only hope.

Scotty has been filling in his time by having coffee with his buddy fellow shredder Wille Yli Luoma. Video from the You Tube Holden channel.
