Are You Ready For Premiere Season?

Premieres and movie tours are vital to any shred season as they are the signal of change. For our northern friends it signifies that opening days are just around the corner, while for us southern type it signals the chairs have stopped for another year.

To help you prepare here are 3 tips:
1- Bro Five
Make sure you have your high five on lock down as premieres equals bro down to the eXtreme (notice the capital X that is how extreme the broing down is).

2- Liver Abuse
Snowboard movies equals booze so drink up and enjoy.

3- Buy The Movie
Help keep these good times happening by supporting the industry and buying the films. Plus you never take it all in from the premiere as you are to busy drinking and broing down.

To kick off the southern season pencil in these movie dates below.

Radiohead X RDM

Radiohead played in Vancouver the other night and while rocking out it reminded me of Romain deMarchi's break out part in Vivid (the clip above). This movie launched not only Romain to international stardom but also Absinthe Films.

Check out the new Absinthe film Ready on their Sphere Of Influence Tour.

Vague Upbringing and The Whiskey Films

Now if you mention the Whiskey films to anyone that was shredding during the 90's they will be able to tell you a number of ground breaking moments within the films. The moments won't always be about the skateboarding or the snowboarding of these films. It will most likely be stories of a booze fueled clown that rode dirt bikes in super markets and smashed bottles over his head. The Whiskey films captured a time when snowboarding was still hated and the Olympics was for fat rich ski kids.

Vague Upbringing is a documentary about the Whiskey films and the people behind it. Created by independent film maker Lauren Graham and due out soon hopefully. This documentary will be for new people to experience and old people to re live a time when it was all about a shredding good time.

The HD STD

The Panasonic HVX-202 is the new standard for HD snowboard filming. The reason for their success is because it's controls are like that of the 16mm film cameras they replaced. This allows filmers to be able to capture slow motion action unlike any digital camera before, without any compromise to quality. This move to HD has also allowed film companies to move money from the developing costs of film back into the movie product. Check out the following teasers to see what HD has done for snowboard movies.
